Is Anyone Running the Internet?

Ever wondered who is running the Internet? I’m sure you didn’t and you probably don’t care either because the Internet is something we take for granted. But I am going to show you anyway.

The Internet is not run by an individual or a company or even a country. The Internet is a global network made of smaller networks. This infographic will show you what I mean.

There are some things out of order here though. Firstly, under the IAB description on the top left, the acronyms should be IETF, rather than IEFT. Secondly, it doesn’t say anything about DNS. This is probably the most important part of the Internet as the DNS is directly responsible for translating the signals into what you see on your screen.
